After trying the Chamos Acaci Matte Pore Primer, I knew I want to try more primer. Etude House Goodbye Pore Ever Primer Essence is the 2nd pore primer that I tried. I have to say the sebum control is most impressive!
[The Missy’s Say]
✔ Creamy, like skin moisturizer.
✔ Perfumed, like baby powder, I like it quite much.
✔ ✔ When spread on face, it feels smooth, a little velvety (not as velvety as Chamos Pore Primer though). Used alone, it doesn’t really do too much, but skin looks more matt.
✔ It doesn’t alter your skin color.
✔ ✔ Amazing! You want to avoid applying on the whole face if you have T-zone or combination skin. I applied on the whole face, and felt a little dry on sides of cheeks.
It is important that you don’t overload your skin care in the day, because it is likely to influence the effectiveness of any sebum control products – speaking from experiences.
My skin care products sequence (different from the night’s regime):
Facial wash -> Snail repair toner -> Snail eye cream -> Syn-Ake cream -> Mizon sunscreen -> Pore ever primer essence -> Skin79 BB cream
Sebum Control by hours:
✔ 1 hour later – skin looks as fresh
✔ 3 hours later – nose area starts to oil slightly (just shine); the skin on cheeks (the areas nearer to the nose bridge) starts to shine slightly, but feels matt at touch
✘ 6 hours later – nose area very oily – so it’s probably a great idea to use tissue/blotter to blot the nose by 3rd hour anyway – the cheeks (near to nose bridge) starts to shine more
Remember that I didn’t use any setting powder over the BB cream, and usually I needed to blot by 2nd hour from application, but with the primer, the sebum control was much better.
✔ It didn’t break me out; but I haven’t used it everyday, so I can’t give the most accurate account. I will know better after my vacation in February. (Arrived just in time – this is going to be great for tropical climate! It’s tropical here in Singapore, but I am never out, remember?)
I love how it makes the pore smaller and the sebum control makes it the star product! I will definitely not apply the whole face next time though.
✔✘ Silica (in the ingredients) – some people are allergic to silica, so you may want to do a patch test along your jawline or neck (I don’t know about you, but the skin on my face is definitely more sensitive as compared to my hands) to see if your skin reacts to silica.
With Chamos primer, I experienced a slight tingling burn sensation around my lips and eyes, but not with Etude House pore ever primer, so it’s safe to say that Pore Ever works better for me – but I really love that velvety effect of Chamos’.
✔✘ – means neutral; depending if your skin is allergic to the ingredient or not.
I bought mine from this seller, and she is very generous with samples!
